From my Hart: What’s in my Purse?

As a forward, you should know I swore that no matter how old I got, that I would never carry a purse. I made purses my sworn enemy at a young age, and remember trying to force myself to use them throughout the years because Momma always said one day I would need it.

I was able to successfully avoid purses until I started working full time after college. Sure there have been recent periods of time where I was able to get away with using a book bag, or a cross-body, but now I just accept the fact, have “womaned-up” & carry a purse 98% of the time.

My purse:

IMG_5501Y’all have been so kind and complemented my purse whenever it made an appearance during #FROCKTOBER. (If you’re not sure what that is, check out the 1st of six installments here) I’ve had this purse since 2015; my boyfriend surprised me with it as we were going to Cook Out on my first trip visiting him in South Carolina. (My boyfriend went to Limestone College in South Carolina)

It’s in excellent shape for how rough I am with things & I love nude colors- LOOVE. The two tone nude colors with black straps is perfect and goes with every season. I love the gold clasp on the front that keeps the envelope front pocket closed. I call it an envelope pocket because… it looks like an envelope. The bag has a gold zipper at the top, two small pockets on one side and a zipper pocket on the other.

What’s inside my purse?

My Planner:

IMG_5507There is no way, I would be able to function without my planner. I write everything down, and always make myself a list of things to do during the day. I am ultra particular about my planners. For the past four years I’ve had a planner by Sugar Paper & I don’t plan on abandoning them. I usually pick my planner up around Christmas from Target; that is where I first fell in love with this brand.

I need a planner that not only has the current year, but the following year laid out. I also need each month displayed with the subsequent weeks to follow broken down one week at a time. I am super OCD and this is just how I am best able to keep myself organized. I use the crap out of the note section provided in the back of the planner. Not to mention, it’s super cute!

IMG_5503I need glasses for distance, but not for driving, bizarre I know. I tend to lose my glasses a lot, so they just kind of live in my purse as a way of safe keeping. I don’t need them for work, but will need them if I got to the movies, or need to see something across the room- so I never know exactly when I might need them.

Anyway, I also keep in my purse my Michael Kors sunglasses. My Mom got me this pair for my birthday last year! It’s hard to tell from the picture, but they are the tortoise shell pattern. They are not prescription lenses, but can be switched out I’m told.

IMG_5502My wallet was a gift from my boyfriend one year for Christmas. He gives good gifts. It is a black Michael Kors wallet with a gold zipper. Inside it is divided down the middle by a zippered coin holder. On either side of this are four card slots, (8 total). Behind each of the four card slots is an open pocket that runs the length of the wallet. It’s super functional, keeps me ultra organized, & goes with everything.

My lip stuff:

IMG_5504Daily, I wearing each of these items. The pink tube to the left is je ne sais quoi, from IT Cosmetics. I got mine from QVC with some other goodies & will happily pay for this for ever. This is the first “lip treatment” (aka chapstick) that quenches my lips thirst and doesn’t get me addicted to it, nor does it give me a rash or dry me out. IT’S THE BEST HANDS DOWN! I have about 3/4 of an inch left, and I’ve been using it regularly since Christmas 2016.

The black tube is the perfect nude/pink color (called Jessie). It is by Alexa Cosmetics, from Jessie James Decker’s Lip Kit. IN LOVE, super creamy, long lasting & so so cute!

Lotion & Hand Sanitizer:

IMG_5505I’m a germ freak, so I wash my hands a lot. I keep hand sanitizer on deck for when I can’t wash my hands; like after pumping gas. I don’t like the scented hand sanitizers, so good ol’ generic is perfect for me.

Because I wash my hands so often, I need to keep them lotioned or they dry out…bad! I have super sensitive skin, and break out from most lotions, but not Aveeno! I have the baby kind, just because it was small enough to fit in my purse. It’s also gentle enough for me to use on my face. Especially since the weather is changing, this is a super helpful addition.

S’ip by Swell Bottle:

IMG_5506I try to drink half of my body weight in water daily. I’ve tried different water bottles, and over the last few months have resorted to just refilling a plastic water bottle throughout the day. However, my family is going through cases of water too quickly, and I want something more permanent to carry my water in. I opted for this S’ip by Swell Bottle.

It keeps my water cold & has the cutest simple design to help me distinguish my water wherever I go.

There are a bunch of other random things in my purse, like feminine products, hair ties, tissues, mace, etc. Haha! I wanted to highlight the things I cannot go a day without that must be in my purse at all times, just in case.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this. Thanks for stopping by & I hope to see you again soon!
